Begin with the end in mind.
To support our clients as they strive to shorten outages and boost plant availability and production, Hargrove's full-service startup and commissioning team works with owners and contractors to plan and execute well-managed project startups and shutdowns.
The Construction Industry Institute (CII) defines the startup phase as "the transitional phase between plant construction completion and commercial operations, including all of the activities that bridge these two phases." Critical steps within the startup phase include system turnover, check-out of systems, commissioning of systems, introduction of feedstock, and performance testing.
Hargrove helps our clients apply CII best practices. These include planning for successful startup in the design phase, scheduling and defining mechanical completion, prioritizing by system, and mitigating potential issues (communication, schedule alignment, process safety, control system integration, etc.) We have the leadership and expertise to manage startups from planning through turnover and operations training.
Hargrove provides risk register and startup checklist management. We also coordinate facilities release or system turnover services as an auxiliary service, or as integration with EPCM or controls + automation services.
