Ralph A. Hargrove, president and founder of Hargrove Engineers + Constructors, was presented the Outstanding Entrepreneur Award by the Mobile Area Chamber of Commerce during the Chamber’s Small Business Week luncheon. The award was created in 2014 to recognize and celebrate an individual who represents the characteristics of successful entrepreneurship including creativity, initiative, dynamic growth and sound management.
“Ralph’s mission is to ensure that leadership is developed and encouraged at every level of the company, and that, along with the company’s philanthropic efforts, played a big part in the committee’s decision to honor him,” said Frank Lott III, Mobile Area Chamber Board Chairman.
In 1995, Hargrove started the company as the sole employee working from his home. Today, it is one of the largest privately held engineering firms in the state of Alabama, and is employee-owned with 11 offices across the United States. With more than 1000 Teammates, the company’s success stems from its focus on building a team of the best engineers and construction professionals while maintaining long-term client relationships.
“It’s an honor to receive the Outstanding Entrepreneur Award from the Mobile Area Chamber of Commerce,” said Hargrove. “The dedication our Teammates show to our clients has been the foundation for our growth over the past 20 years. Winning this award reminds us to stay connected to our roots as a small business.”
