Ralph Hargrove Goes Over the Edge for Charity
Mar 4, 2016
On Friday, March 4th, Ralph A. Hargrove, president and founder of Hargrove Engineers + Constructors, participated in Over the Edge, a fundraising event to benefit 74 Club, a local service-oriented nonprofit. Hargrove, along with more than eighty other community representatives, rappelled twenty stories down the Mobile Marriott Hotel.
“Putting one foot over the edge was one thing, but when I put both feet over, that’s when things got real,” said Hargrove of the experience. “It was one of the most enjoyable and exciting things I’ve done, all while helping the Hargrove Team contribute to a worthy cause.”
Over the Edge gives local celebrities and media personalities the opportunity to help the less fortunate while experiencing the thrill of a lifetime in front of a crowd of family, friends, and supporters.
All participants raised a minimum of $1000 for the 74 Club in order to don their harnesses and take the literal and metaphorical leap. These funds helped the 74 Club give back to local nonprofits such as St. Mary’s Home, Woody's Song, Mobile ARC, McKemie Place, The Ronald McDonald House Charities of Mobile, The Exchange Club, and The Abba Shrine Children's Transportation Fund.
Over the Edge is a nonprofit special events company designed to help organizations with their fundraising efforts by involving local communities across the United States, Canada, and Central and South America.
